Before we start a web design project, we need to learn about your business and objectives for the new website. We’ll get to know you through a discovery process that discusses your website needs and goals.
Following this process, we will be able to provide a customized proposal outlining the overall site scope (the verbal outline), phases of the project, timelines, and pricing.
Next, we will start visually outlining your site by working through a process known as “wireframing.” This strategic initial approach to organizing your content helps us both think through the site objectively, before any specific details are discussed.
We’ll create a clickable prototype that you can actually navigate, and discuss our recommendations for the placement and hierarchy of your content. We’ll give you guidance on any content that needs to be prepared, and help you develop it as necessary.
With the wireframes off to a good start, we’ll explore the style of the website with your branding considerations as top priority. We’ll present the style direction on a couple of key pages so you can start to visualize the final product. Together, we’ll discuss the overall look and revise as required.
When the wireframes are solidified and the design style is approved, we’ll begin the development of your site. Once complete, you’ll be presented with a fully-designed and functional test website for review.
Time for the final touches! We will go through a collaborative testing and revision process to make sure everything is looking and functioning the way we planned. We’ll teach you how to add and edit any final content, and when you are ready, we will launch the site.
05. Go Live!
When everything looks perfect, we’ll move the test website onto your company’s URL to make it live and discoverable by search engines. For your editing flexibility, we’ll teach you how to use WordPress, the content management system, for small content and day-to-day changes. If, however, you would rather us handle those, we have optional monthly maintenance plans.
